GPRS Configuration Manual

General Packet Radio Service offer 'always-on', higher capacity, Internet-based content and packet-based data services. GPRS enables services such as Internet browsing, e-mail on the move, multimedia messages. GPRS offers complete solutions through which you can always stay online and get connected with family, friends.

Above rates are exclusive of applicable taxes.

How to Access GPRS?

Following are the pre requisites to utilize GPRS on your handset

1. GPRS compatible handset or mobile devices
2. Service activated on your mobile number
3. Respective handset / mobile GPRS settings on your handset

GPRS - MMS Tariff

GPRS Subscription Charge : Rs 100
Additional Rental Charge : Rs 600
Unlimited Data Usages
MMS Charge : Rs 4/MMS

Basic Setting Parameters for GPRS & MMS

Proxy Server :- 192.80.7.133, Port :- 8000

For accessing internet/WAP through your mobile handset :-
GPRS APN :- ntwap
GPRS Home Page :- http://wap.ntc.net.np

For accessing internet through computer by using GPRS service in your mobile phone :-
APN :- ntnet

For sending and receiving MMS :-
MMS APN :- ntmms
MMS Home Page/Server Address :- 192.80.11.180

Settings for Sony Ericsson k700, k750i

1. Enter the main menu.
2. Select Connect (Connectivity) select Data comm select Data accounts
3. Press YES at Add account?
4. At Account type, select GPRS data.
5. Enter New account: NTGRPS
6. Enter APN: ntwap
8. Enter Password: Leave this field blank
9. Press Save.
10. Again go to the main menu.
11. Select Connect (connectivity), select Internet settings, select Internet Profiles
12. Add New profile
13. Enter Name: internet
14. Select Connect using: NTGPRS
15. Changes made save? Yes
16. Select the new profile just created click more advanced change homepage
17. Use http://wap.ntc.net.np/index.wml as address
18. Select save.
19. Use internet services to browse Internet through Nepal Telecom Mobile GPRS.

Settings for Motorola V3, L6, L7

1. Enter the main menu.
2. Select WebAccess, select Web Sessions, select New Entry
3. Enter Name: NTGPRS
4. Enter 192.80.7.133 in Proxy1
5. Enter 8000 in Port1
6. Scroll to GPRS APN: ntwap
7. On Homepage: http://wap.ntc.net.np/index.wml
8. Leave everything default and press done.
9. You are now ready to surf internet with Nepal Telecom Mobile GPRS service.

Settings for Nokia 3100, 3120

1. At the main screen Select Menu 'Services ' Settings
2. Select Set 1 for Active Service Settings.
3. Go to Edit Active Service Settings.
4. Make Changes as follows
  1. Settings' Name: NTGPRS
  2. Homepage: http://wap.ntc.net.np/index.wml
  3. Session Mode: Permanent.
  4. Connection Security: Off
  5. Data Bearer: GPRS
  6. Bearer Setting
    1. Enter GPRS Access Point: ntwap
    2. IP Address: 192.80.7.133
    3. Authentication Type: Normal
    4. Login Type: Automatic
    5. Username: " Leave this field blank "
    6. Password: " Leave this field blank "
5. Exit Settings
6. Turn off and on your phone set, you are ready to surf internet with Nepal Telecom Mobile GPRS service.

Setting for Nokia 6610, 6610i, 7210

1. At the main screen, select MENU' Services ' Settings button.
2. Select Set 1 for Active Service Settings.
3. Go to Edit Active Service Settings.
4. Make Changes as follows
  1. Settings' Name: NTGPRS
  2. Homepage: http://wap.ntc.net.np/index.wml
  3. Session Mode: Permanent
  4. Connection Security: Off
  5. Data Bearer: GPRS
  6. GPRS Access Point: ntwap
  7. IP Address: 192.80.7.133
  8. Authentication Type: Normal
  9. Login Type: Automatic
  10. Username: " Leave this field blank "
  11. Password: " Leave this field blank "
5. Press Back to exit Settings.
6. Turn off and on your phone set, you are ready to surf internet with Nepal Telecom Mobile GPRS service.

Settings for Nokia 6600

1. At the main screen Select MENU ' Services 'options ' Settings
2. Select Default access point and make changes as follows:
  1. Connection Name: NTGPRS
  2. Data bearer: GPRS
  3. Access point name: ntwap
  4. User name: none
  5. Prompt password: no
  6. Password: none
  7. Authentication: non secure
  8. Homepage: http://wap.ntc.net.np/index.wml
3. Select Back to exit settings. Leave the rest of the field as it is, do not make any other changes
4. Turn off and on your phone set, you are ready to surf internet with Nepal Telecom Mobile GPRS service.

Setting for Samsung SGH C210, S200

1. Press Menu ' Funbox ' WAP Browser
2. Go to Settings and select Profile1 Info
3. Change the profile1 Info as follows
  1. Profile Name: NTGPRS
  2. Homepage URL: http://wap.ntc.np/index.wml
  3. Security: Non-Secure
  4. IP Address: 192.80.7.133
  5. Bearer: GPRS
  6. User Name:
  7. Password:
  8. Enter APN: ntwap
4. Press the back arrow key to exit Settings
5. Select Home to start your Nepal Telecom Mobile GPRS service

To send/receive mms messages, do the settings similar to above but choose APN as ntmms and use MMS server IP address as listed below. Please note that using APN ntwap to send/receive mms messages may incur double charging of mms services. Hence please make sure that you have select correct APN; that is "ntmms" to send/receive mms messages.
